Vasi Cella

Ny-based Fashion designer

Vasi Cella, born and raised in San Francisco, is a multidisciplinary artist who values the elaborate touch which summons itself when passion meets objective. She believes life is to be savored, and as such has a compulsion toward great pleasures, such as music, textiles, and the vintage world.

the world seems most strange and beautiful today

This collection evokes the whimsy which is often lost as we begin to take the world seriously. Life is not serious. Life is a burst of creation and joy and beauty.

i had the most beautiful dream

i lived on the prairie

i was the middle sister

in a three story house

a backyard of dusty sand sparsely covered itself in tiger striped pink flowers and green vines

with a pale shallow blue reservoir

and a rickety treehouse sprouting on stilts from the water

there was a pen with horses bucking and chasing each other

and i was hand sewing a skirt i had never seen before, dipping my fingers in the water

i woke up and felt myself floating

my feet felt so light

the tips of my toes dragged on the floor

Knitwear

My knits are delicate like a breath of gossamer, holding complex patterns which are heavily inspired by the anatomical structures present in H.R. Giger’s work.

i pour the love that bubbles and pops inside of me

i feel that love under my tissue, my ribs, my skin, in the heat of my chest

i feel it travel through me

ULTRAFILTER

ULTRAFILTER references oceanic filtration systems juxtaposed with sickly little victorians. All work is hand dyed and all trim was handmade, including muslin trim and hand dyed and braided yarn.

i have fallen from the sky

my lips allow a single breath of azure and silver

if i could taste the soap dripping from my fingers

the sylph ripping from my chest

the open wounds and creases of my skin

it would taste of the ice giant

of hydrogen and the swirling mass of inescapable wind

it would taste of my spine and my sea

i am gravity, i am the voyage

Early work

A look inspired by a mannequin found on the ground the morning after watching the movie ALIEN (1979)
